4 1/2 months. It’s been that long since I’ve even logged in here. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around that fact, but it’s true.

Long story short, within 3 days of the post I wrote 4 1/2 months ago, my life was turned upside down yet again. Since then, I’ve spent many of my waking hours contemplating where I am and where I want and need to be. Nothing new there. I’m the type of person who has always regularly “taken stock” of my life.

This time, however, was different.

I successfully resisted my instinct to do what I typically do — lay out objectives & goals and draft a plan and then execute it as best I canInstead, I prayed and journaled, sipped tea and took walks, and simply let myself be in the moments.

Painful as they were.

And I’ve come out on the other side. Changed. And still changing.

No more meticulously-planned personal planner with pages for yearly and quarterly goals; no more lengthy to-do lists; no more fairly rigid and completely unrealistic plan.

But one thing hasn’t changed.

Every step of the way, I’ve been writing. And I’m excited to be back here and to be working on “my” book (more on the reason for the quotation marks at a later date). And, God willing, I’ll be chatting with you here every Thursday moving forward.

But I need you to do something for me. I need you to chat back at me. Join in the conversation, share your thoughts and your stories.

I’ll leave you this week with a question for you to ponder and respond to via a comment: If you could commission someone to write one book (fiction or nonfiction), what would it be about? In other words, what is the book you long to read but haven’t yet found at your library or favorite bookseller?
