Almost two months ago, I shared here that 2025 was (for me) a time for shaking things up. In a perfect example of “people make plans but God determines our steps”, something seemingly trivial occurred within a few days of that declaration and completely shook up my plans.

Unlike my “old self” of 15 or more years ago, I didn’t chafe at the unexpected and extended downtime and lack of control of my circumstances. Instead, I addressed what I had to do, being content with doing what I could and letting the rest go.

In the interlude, I’ve released some things from my life. A few “obligations” . . . over 300 items (in my 2025 items gone in 2025” challenge) . . . some long-held expectations . . .

And in the past week, as 2 tornadoes, weeklong heavy rain & “generational” flooding, and numerous severe storms have raged outside my new-to-me little home, I’ve been adding some things.

I’m sure I’ll be sharing about those additions in the future; for now, I’ll just say they bring me peace and joy.

But for today, I just wanted to drop by and write for a few minutes. I’ve missed being here, and I’m glad to be back.
