In response to today’s devotion (“Catching Whimsy” by Bob Goff), I’m contemplating what I hope I will be able to say on February 1, 2027, as I reflect back on this year of Living with Whimsy. Here are my thoughts:

In regard to “my” writing career, I am thankful to be able to say that . . .

1. My monthly column continues to be a joy to write, and I continue to receive feedback that it brings joy and inspires at least some readers.

2. In February 2026, a wonderful mentor came into my life. He/she was just the person I needed to move me along the path from having the goal of writing a book to getting the job done.

3. DRUM ROLL: My now-completed manuscript has been pitched and accepted for publication!!

4. God has laid on my heart a vision for a second book, and I have begun writing it.
