”If You are willing, You can make me clean.”

We don’t know how long the man with leprosy had suffered from this horrible disease which caused him to be totally ostracized in a culture that believed leprosy is highly contagious. But Jesus not only didn’t keep the man at a distance, he responded to the leper’s words by reaching out and touching him!

If you are familiar with the story (Matthew 8:2-3), you know that Jesus said He was willing and proceeded to heal the man.

I’ve thought quite a bit the past 14 months about the many people Jesus healed during his short ministry, and I remain convinced that God can and will heal me as well. I don’t when/where or how that will happen, however. I can be healed here through medication, etc., or I may not be healed until I join Jesus in Heaven.

Either way, I will be healed.

God is mightier than NXP-2 Dermatomyositis, the “extremely rare” subtype of the “rare” autoimmune disease I’ve battled since December 2024. He is mightier than the 7 types of cancer which I am now at a 6% – 43% higher risk to develop.

And so I trust Him and know that He is with me. And I trust that He will heal me. In His time and in His way and according to His perfect plan.

Until then, my goal is to rest in Him, trust Him, and live this wonderful life with all the whimsy I can muster.
